Vada Chennai has been a long time talk in Kollywood as two National award winners Dhanush and Vetrimaaran uniting to make this magnum opus, the anticipations became much stronger. Now Vada Chennai team has announced that they have wrapped up their shoot. All these, while the entire team maintained a low profile about the movie and no information came about the movie except for the movie's story, will be based on North Madras. This was also learnt from the movie's title, if not we couldn't have couldn't have guessed this too. The news was officially confirmed by director and actor Samuthirakani, who is playing an important role in this movie. The story focuses upon 35 years of a particular group set against the backdrops of north Chennai. It is also mentioned that Vada Chennai is not a movie about gangsters. The film is jointly produced by Dhanush under the Wunderbar Films in collaboration with Lyca productions. Meanwhile Dhanush is simultaneously shooting for his other movie Maari 2, which is proceeding at a brisk pace.
