Shalini Pandey rose to fame after the release of Telugu superhit Arjun Reddy. Earlier we reported that Jiiva and Arjun Reddy fame Shalini Pandey are teaming up together for the film ‘Gorilla’, which is a comedy heist entertainer. The film also features Radharavi, Satish, Munishkanth, Yogi Babu, Mottai Rajendran in important roles. Don Sandy is directing the movie and he is the writer for the movie.

Sam CS of Vikram Vedha is composing music for this film and Vetri Mahendran is handling cinematography. This is the first ever time, a real Chimpanzee is acting with an Indian actor. The film was launched this morning and the shoot has commenced in Pondicherry. The team is confident about wrapping up the entire project by April and get it released as summer treat for universal audiences. Already Kalakalappu 2 directed by Sundar C and Kee directed by Kalees are ready to hit the screens. Now, Gorilla will be another bog release for JIiva this year.

Jiiva is an Indian film actor who predominantly appears in Tamil films. Son of film producer R. B. Choudry, he started his career as a child actor in his father's films in 1996.

He performed his first lead role in the 2003 romantic film Aasai Aasaiyai, before rising to fame with his breakthrough performance in Raam (2005), for which he won the Best Actor Award at the Cyprus International Film Festival. Since, he became known for his versatility, essaying distinctly different roles in his subsequent films, such as a stuntman in Dishyum (2006), a slum dweller in E (2006) and a psychopath in Kattradhu Thamizh (2007).
