Vishal’s recent release Thupparivaalan and Malayalam debut Villain were success. Many critics applauded him for trying new roles and choosing good scripts. Irumbu Thirai directed by a new director PS Mithran is shaping up and is almost over. The director say that Vishal first wanted to play the negative role in the movie. The director says "Initially when Vishal listened to the story we had an idea of making someone else a hero but after listening to the story Vishal wanted to do the negative role as it is a very powerful character in the movie. But I made the hero character a military man and wanted him to act as a hero in the movie. The same way every character in this movie are sensible and tries to convey new things to the audiences." Vishal, Arjun, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu are playing the lead roles in the movie and Yuvan Shankar Raja scores music for the movie. Irumbu Thirai is produced in Vishal’s own banner Vishal Film Factory. The movie is almost over so works are happening in full swing. And the team had a plan to release the movie for this Pongal with Thanaa Serndha Kootam. But now they have changed the release date on 26th of January which is when Jayam Ravi starrer Tik Tik Tik is scheduled to releases. Now Vishal has two projects in his kitty, one is Sanda Kozhi which started shooting a month back
