It was believed that almost half a dozen Tamil films might release but due to unavailability of theaters on August 11th Tharamani, VIP 2 and Podhuvaaga en manasu thangam these three films were released in the tight schedule. All three films have got a good reception from the audiences and they have grossed very well in the box office in these three days. Velai illa pattadhari starring Dhanush and Kajol directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth has grossed 12 crores in these three days. Podhuvaga en manasu thangam starring Udhayanithi Stalin, Nivetha Pethuraj, Parthiban and Soori has grossed 3.5 crores in these three days. And Tharamani starring Andrea Jeramiah, Vasanth Ravi and Anjali directed by Ram has grossed 3.2 crores in these three days.
