We listen to many scholarly people saying nowadays cinema songs are trash; Na Muthukumar was the one to break the myth. He unbound the blind fold of the scholars and made them understand that their taste is old fashioned and the youth are still expressing the same feelings with a simple language. So he changed Tamil cinema song pattern into a simple Tamil which all could understand at the same time with no compromises in it poetic expression. Na Muthukumar has not only contributed to Tamil cinema but he has also contributed to the Tamil literature. His literary work has a special place in Tamil and it should get more recognition. He should not only be considered as a Tamil lyricist but he has contributed more than that to the cinema and Tamil society. We remember on his 42 birthday.
