He even directed ‘Ponnar Shankar’ based on the epic ‘Ponnar Shankar’ written by Kalaignar M Karunanidhi, portraying Prashanth in a dual role. The film won positive reviews for its war sequences and it was highly appreciated. Prashanth’s stunts and the avoidance of difficult Tamil dialogues for easy understanding of the epic were also applauded by the critics and the audiences.
