Apart from having VJ, anchoring and acting as her profession, actress Ramya also have her passion towards power lifting. The pretty actress has now bagged a bronze medal in the fifth Tamilnadu state unequipped bench press. “Hitting the platform with massive state level competitors is no easy business. But having said that, competing is a fantastic way to stay motivated & boost your confidence. I started at 27.5kg progressed to 32.5kg n attempted my last call at 35kg today. It was tough as there were so many this time , but I dint give up easy. I went there, fought hard and took the bronze at the STATE LEVEL POWERLIFTING COMPETITION for BENCHPRESS. Though I have got qualified for Nationals, I want to take this slow and consistent, work harder practice more before competing for my Nation” says Ramya in a patriotic tone. இந்தியாவிற்காக பளு தூக்கும் போட்டியில் கலந்து கொள்கிறார் நடிகை ரம்யா ஐந்தாவது தமிழ்நாடு மாநில பளு தூக்கும் போட்டியில், ரம்யா வெண்கல பதக்கத்தை வாங்கி இருக்கிறார் தொகுப்பாளினி, நடிகை என்ற அடையாளங்கள் ரம்யாவிற்கு ஒருபுறம் இருக்க, தற்போது பளு தூக்கும் போட்டியிலும் தனக்கென ஒரு அடையாளத்தை பதித்து இருக்கிறார் அவர். தமிழ் நாட்டில் நடைபெற்ற மாநில அளவிலான ஐந்தாவது பளு தூக்கும் போட்டியில் வெண்கல பதக்கத்தை வென்று இருக்கிறார் நடிகை ரம்யா. "பல முன்னணி வீர்கள் பங்கேற்ற இந்த பளு தூக்கும் போட்டியில் கலந்து கொள்வது என்பது அவ்வளவு எளிதான காரியம் இல்லை. அத்தகைய வீரர்களோடு போட்டியில் கலந்து கொள்வது மூலம், நம்முடைய தன் நம்பிக்கை அதிகரிக்கும். 27.5 கிலோ பளு தூக்கும் பிரிவில் ஆரம்பித்து, 32.5 கிலோ பிரிவிற்கு முன்னேறி தற்போது 35 கிலோ பிரிவில் நான் பங்கேற்று இருக்கிறேன். போட்டி சற்று கடினமாக இருந்தாலும், என்னுடைய விடா முயற்சியால் தற்போது இந்த மாநில அளவிலான பளு தூக்கும் போட்டியில் வெண்கல பதக்கம் வென்று இருக்கிறேன். இதன் மூலம் நான் தேசிய அளவிலான போட்டியில் கலந்து கொள்ள தேர்ச்சி பெற்று இருக்கிறேன். என்னுடைய நாட்டிற்காக விளையாடுவதற்காக, நான் கடினமான பயிற்சியில் ஈடுபட இருக்கிறேன்" என்று உற்சாகமாக கூறுகிறார் நடிகை ரம்யா.
