‘Ghazi’: A Tribute to Indian Navy; India’s first war-at-sea film

Usually, a film based on national history is always received well among audiences due to the patriotism towards our country. One such movie which is ready to hit the theaters with VFX equal to Hollywood production is the film ‘Ghazi’. It is India’s first war-at-sea film. This film is a tribute to Indian Navy and to the warriors who sacrificed their lives for our country in the Ghazi attack. The movie plot is stimulated by true events from the Indo-Pak war, which happened in the year 1971. The story is about the executive officer and his team, who belong to Indian Submarine S21 stay underwater for 18 days. The movie discovers the mysterious circumstances under which the PNZ Ghazi sank off the coast of Vishakapatnam in the year 1971. The underwater story showcases bravery and patriotism in destroying the Pakistani submarine PNS Ghazi by Indian Submarine S21 which tried to destroy INS Vikrant entering the Indian waters. Director Sankalp has written a book titled ‘Blue Fish’, wanted to take a short film on the Ghazi war, but he later wanted to take a full feature film, said Rana during the press meet. The director is extremely happy in directing an untold Indian history as his debut film. Music director K is confident that his career will go to the next level because of the intense story and direction to be the first in the Indian cinema industry and he is happy to be a part of it. The film was shot in a submarine prototype to bring the actual experience for the audiences. The movie cast includes Rana Daggubati, Taapsee Pannu, Kay Kay Menon, Atul Kulkarni, Om Puri in crucial roles. The film is directed by Debutant Sankalp Reddy and produced by PVP Cinemas. The film was continuously shot in Hindi and Telugu and dubbed in Tamil. Karan Johar will be distributing the Hindi version of the film under his banner ‘Dharma Productions’. The music for the film is composed by K. The cast and crew have put their immense hard work for their characters in the film. ‘Ghazi’ is slated to be released on February 17, 2017, in all 3 languages worldwide.
