Sundar C is the latest talk of the K’town for his big budget period drama Sangamithra which is said to be having a star cast. Though there were several popular names rumoured to be a part of it, there was no official news on anyone signing the dotted line. The wait is finally over and here comes the official announcement. As reported earlier, Arya and Jayam Ravi are the male leads to play the protagonists and the music composer is confirmed to be A.R.Rahman. To be funded by Sri Thenandal Films as their prestigious 100th project, the makers claim that this flick is going to be a magnum opus with the budget surpassing Shankar’s 2.0 or even Baahubali. The other members of the technical crew includes Sudeep Chatterjee for cranking the camera, Sabu Cyril for art direction and Kamalakannan to take care of the special effects. As for the leading lady, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is likely to on board Sangamithra though the official news hasn’t reached our ears yet. Touted to be a historical period film, the film will be shot over the span of 2 years in 3 languages, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The plot will also cover multiple countries and hence the shooting will take place at almost 11 countries.
