Aamir Khan's much awaited Dangal finally opened to screens on December 23 with the movie entering the 100 crore club in just 3 days. The actor's hardwork and dedication into the making of this film is said to have reaped a good fruit. The Christmas weekend was not occupied with any other releases though Ranveer Singh's Befikre released two weeks back. This wrestling biopic was released in Hindi as well as in Tamil and Telugu in the dubbed versions. In Chennai alone, it earned 1 crores and the global collection on Sunday was 42.35 crores. Dangal garnered 106.95 crores in total in the opening weekend becoming the fifth Aamir Khan starrer to join the coveted 100 crore club. His other movies include Ghajini, Three Idiots, Dhoom 3 and PK prior to this. The performances of the Phogat sisters Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra were overwhelming at the box office. Dangal has also become the biggest opening weekend ever for Aamir and has been well received especially in the Punjab regions due to the Haryani backdrop.
