Karthi who is presently shooting for Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai has signed a cop action film with director Vinoth of Sathuranga Vettai fame. The team would start the shooting once the Kashmora actor completes his current commitments. Meanwhile the makers are yet to finalise the female lead for this flick. The latest news we hear is that Rakul Preet Singh has been approached with the script to pair with Karthi for the first time. Though she hasn't signed the dotted line, the news has been exciting the tinsel town. They had done even a test shoot at Chennai to finalise Karthi's look in the film. Bankrolled by Dream Warrior Pictures, the official confirmation is awaited from the team in few weeks. On the other hand, Rakul had her recent release Dhruva successful and is currently shooting for Mahesh Babu’s film with A.R.Murugadoss. Back in Kollywood, she is returning after a small gap with Vishal in Thupparivaalan. Director Vinoth was acclaimed for his heist thriller Sathuranga Vettai after which things didn't materialise for the next project. He had approached Suriya and Ajith with the script and finally looks like Karthi is the one made for it. The regular shooting of this untitled film is expected to commence by the end of January, 2017.
