Superstar is currently filming for 2.0 with Shankar to wrap it by the first month of 2017. Next the Kabali actor would start working with Pa.Ranjith as reported earlier. The team has planned to commence the shooting from February 2017 and even have a rough idea on its release for December 12, 2017 marking the birthday of Rajinikanth. The plans are in the initial stages and the official news needs to come from its producer, Dhanush who is bankrolling this untitled project under his home banner Wunderbar Films. If the rumours are believed to be true, then Superstar would have two releases in next year since 2.0 is also slated to hit the screens for Diwali 2017. Meanwhile the team is yet to finalise the cast and crew members and mainly the leading lady. Few reports are rounding that Trisha is likely to bag the meaty role this time. On the other hand the director confirmed in a recent interview that this flick will not be a sequel to Kabali 2 but will be a new plot. The director was also spotted at Mumbai scouting for locations as this flick would be an action entertainer based at Mumbai.
