Heroine centric horror films is the recent trend followed in Tamil and Telugu cine industry. Movies like Nayanthara’s Maya, Trisha’s Nayagi and Mohini are frontrunners in this genre. Adding to the list, comes Anjali with her horror flick Chitrangada, a Tamil-Telugu bilingual which will be released in Tamil with the title ‘Yaar Nee’. Reported to be a horizontal thriller comedy, it is the first movie of its kind in Indian cinemas. Anjali is doing a women centric role after Geetanjali. The shooting extensively took place for around 80 to 90% at US. The lady is also said to don a different look in the film and had even lost few kilos for her character. Further she has lent her voice for a song which is the highlight of the story. Directed by Pilla Zamindar director Ashok, Gangapatnam Sridhar has bankrolled this flick. The theatrical rights has been bought recently by Abhishek Pictures and the is geared to hit the screens this December. Sindhu Tulani, Sapthagiri and Raksha play supporting roles with Anjali and is reported to have CG works playing a major role.
