The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial Rani Padmavati had a massive loss in the cast when Ranveer Singh had second thoughts about backing from the film. He was considered to play the role of the warrior Allaudin Khilji who covets over the Rajasthani Queen Padmavati played by Deepika Padukone. But the problem started when Shahid Kapoor was brought on board to play the husband for Deepika in the film. Ranveer was worried about his screen time in the movie and hence had backed out of it. But who could do the romantic warrior role any better than Ranveer Singh? Hence he is back on board after few discussions that took place between him and the director. Looks like Deepika played an important role in this discussion in bringing her favourite co-star to romance with her. Now the cast of the film is all set and is ready to run on floors. It is notable that these three are a successful combo in their last 2 movies, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani. Apart from Ranveer, the makers considered several A list actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan but Ranveer is the best choice for the role.
