Vijay Sethupathi & Lakshmi Menon starrer Rekka has completed the shooting recently and the makers have announced the release date in a press meet. Directed by Rathina Siva and produced by B.Ganesh under Common Man Productions banner, it is slated to hit the screens on October 7 prior to the festival of lights. The movie's plot revolves around the protagonist who commits a small mistake in his young life which follows and affects his adult life seriously. In the later years, when he has been given with an opportunity to correct the mistake, will he utilise it or not is the crux of the remaining story. The cast consists of the Dharma Durai actor playing a boy hailing from Kumbakonam and Lakshmi Menon as his lovelady and a Madurai girl. The Vedhalam villain Kabir Singh will play the antagonist alongside Sathish, K.S.Ravikumar, Kishore, Harish Uthaman, Sija Rose, Sriranjini and Meera Krishnan in the supporting roles. The music composed by D.Imman will be launched sometime in September month. The shooting of the film took place extensively at Chennai, Karaikudi, Madurai, Kumbakonam and Bangkok. The theatrical rights for Rekka was bought by Sivabalan Pictures who are planning for a grand release.
