43 years earlier when Puratchi Thalaivi Jayalalithaa was at peak in the cine industry, the film Suryakanthi had got acclamations to her including the Filmfare Awards for Best Actress. Now in 2016, the black and white film is prepared in a digital and cinemascope print and will be released by producer Gajalakshmi under the banner A.P.Films. This family drama featured her along with the late actor Muthuraman playing the male lead. The plot is about the ego differences between high salaried wife and her husband and the following family issues. The makers have thought that the movie's story has got significance even in the present date and are hence releasing it again. The supporting cast consisted of several main actors like Manorama, Cho Ramaswamy, Major Soundararajan, MR Radha, Moulee and many others. In fact the lady had even lent her voice for two songs in the film which would be received well now after all these years. It had a long run of 150 days and had seen several praises at those time itself.
