Superstar's Kabali which was released on July 22 had brought good fortune for the producer Kalaipuli S.Thaanu. The maker is currently garnering hundreds of crores with the movie reaching the mega hit status. The box office records are being smashed in an unexpected way by this Pa.Ranjith directorial. In Chennai alone, Kabali managed to collect over 3 crores in this weekend. The overseas collections in the first 3 days were 87 crores and the movie has become the biggest South Indian film to gross such an amount. The split-ups in each country is as follows: USA-27 crores, European countries including UK-4.25 crores, Malaysia-14 crores, Singapore-5 crores, UAE-23 crores and the rest of the centres throughout the globe counts from 10 to 12 crores. In India, the film earned over 123 crores in all four languages. When put together the entire weekend box office record is 123+87=210 crores. We also hear that Kabali raked 200 crores during the pre-release business such as through selling of theatrical rights. The one and only reason for this undefeatable fame is Thalaivar who carried the full story on him. But this is not the end of it. We still have weeks to come where these numbers still sore up high !!
