The Cuckoo maker Raju Murugan has been creating curiosity about his next venture Joker in which Guru Somasundaram plays the main protagonist. Ever since the release of first look, the team has been adopting innovative promotional ideas in a unique way. Touted to be a social satire with a political touch and the story is narrated through a man in mid 30’s. The movie is set in Dharmapuri and the plot is about a very common man who doesn’t understand why he has no rights to dismiss corrupt politicians whom he helped to elect. Newcomers Ramya Pandian & Gayathri Krishna play the female leads and Ramasamy, Bava Chelladurai, Bala Murugan are in the supporting roles. Music is scored by Sean Roldan of Mundasupatti fame and the music album with 6 tracks was unveiled on April 20. The camera is handled by Chezhiyan who worked for Bala in Tharai Thappattai. Produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, the makers have announced the release date finally. It will open to theatres on June 17, another 3-day weekend.
