The Mundasupatti director Ram has come up with his next script and has chosen Jai in the lead role. Jai who is in the success of Pugazh had heard the story narrated to him and had nodded positive to work on it. The venture is not yet titled and the team is about to make an official announcement on the same.

This time Ram will make a serious film straight opposite to the comedy drama in Mundasupatti. We hear that it is a psychological thriller and the actor will don a cop role in it. This would be the first time for Jai to can the police officer role. The rest of the cast including the female lead are yet to be decided.

This flick will be bankrolled by C.V.Kumar who had earlier produced the director’s debut film. Ghibran who composed tunes last for Thoongavanam is a part of the team. After making an official launch, they are planning to kickstart the shooting from May first week. Meanwhile Jai will also work in the Chennai 28 sequel with Venkat Prabhu.

Jai is an Indian actor working in Tamil films. Nephew of music composer Deva, Jai had worked as a keyboardist in films and had made his acting debut in a supporting role in Bagavathi (2002). In 2007, he successfully auditioned for a leading role in Venkat Prabhu's sports film Chennai 600028. The film emerged as a cult classic, as did his next role of an unemployed 1980s Madurai lad in Sasikumar's Subramaniapuram (2008).

Jai subsequently garnered praise for diverse roles, including a villager on holiday in Goa (2010), a timid working factory worker in Engaeyum Eppothum (2011) and a customer care executive in the romantic drama Raja Rani (2013), which became his biggest commercial success.
