Veteran Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra was honoured with the People’s choice award 2016 for her role of an FBI agent named Alex Parish in the American TV series “Quantico”. She managed to receive this award in spite of the tough competition given by other female actors such as Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis and others in the category. Hollywood Star Vin Diesel presented her the award and congratulated her as she is the first south asian actress to receive such an honour. The actress also quickly updated her status on twitter by uploading a picture of her with the award and stated that she was so fortunate and thanked all the members of the jury and the people who had voted. This recognition will also be a gateway for the actress to feature in many other international series and movies.
