Thaarai Thappattai is the upcoming movie from the National Award winning director Bala after a brief gap of 2 years. The movie also marks a great fame of 1000th music album from Isaignani Ilaiyaraja. 

So the team has planned for conducting the album launch in a grand manner celebrating the accomplishment on December 17. But the details of the venue and other invited guests for the function to honour him are awaited. Starring Sasikumar and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in the lead roles, the movie’s release is slated for Pongal 2016.

Tharai Thappattai is a Tamil film written and directed by Bala. The film features Sasikumar and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in the leading roles, while Ilaiyaraaja composes the film's music based on karakattam. Tharai Thappattai marks Ilaiyaraja's 1000th film.
