The creators of Kalki 2898 AD shared a special preview of Amitabh Bachchan's character on Sunday. He portrays the mythological figure Ashwatthama in the movie, directed by Nag Ashwin. The film also features Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, and Kamal Haasan in important roles.

In the preview, Bachchan sits in a dark cave. A child arrives and talks with him, admiring his skills. The child even wonders if he's a god. Bachchan's character replies, "My time has come. My last fight starts now." He reveals he's Ashwatthama, Drona's son, before leaving the cave.


Chalasani Aswini Dutt, Swapna Dutt, and Priyanka Dutt from Vyjayanthi Movies are the makers of Kalki 2898 AD. It took a while to create. The movie is said to come out on May 9, as per recent news. But, the creators haven't officially confirmed any changes to the release date yet.

Originally announced as 'Project K' in February 2020 to mark Vyjayanthi Movies' 50th anniversary, the film faced a year-long delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Filming eventually commenced in July 2021 at the futuristic set in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, simultaneously shot in Telugu and Hindi.
With a staggering budget of ₹600 crore (US$75 million), Kalki 2898 AD holds the title of being the most expensive Indian film ever made. The musical score is crafted by Santhosh Narayanan, while Djordje Stojiljkovic handles cinematography and Nitin Zihani Choudhary takes charge of production design. The highly anticipated release of Kalki 2898 AD is slated for cinemas in 2024."
