Por Thozhil marks the exciting upcoming project of Ashok Selvan, who recently delighted audiences with the feel-good entertainer Nitham Oru Vaanam. This film will see him sharing the screen with the legendary actor Sarath Kumar for the first time. Directed by debut filmmaker Vignesh Raja, Por Thozhil is a thriller set in the 1970s or 1980s, revolving around a serial killer. In the film, Sarath Kumar portrays an experienced cop, while Ashok Selvan takes on the role of an inexperienced rookie cop. The highly anticipated trailer of the film was unveiled by none other than A.R. Rahman. In the trailer, Ashok Selvan's character is introduced as a skilled cop with a notable track record of winning numerous medals during his training. The Assistant Director General of Police (ADGP) subsequently assigns Sarath Kumar's character, Loganathan, the responsibility of training him. Together, they embark on a special mission to uncover the identity of the serial killer behind the Trichy murders. Por Thozhil features Nikhila Vimal, a popular Malayalam actor who has previously appeared in a few Tamil films, in the lead female role. The teaser of the film suggests that it revolves around the theme of a serial killer. This film is the next venture for Sarath Kumar. Por Thozhil is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 9th.
