The makers of Thalapathy 68 made an exciting announcement on Sunday, revealing that Vijay's next film will be directed by Venkat Prabhu. The project will be supported by Kalpathi S Aghoram's AGS Entertainment. Thalapathy 68 marks the first-ever collaboration between Vijay and Venkat Prabhu. Expressing his enthusiasm for the project, the filmmaker said, "I am incredibly delighted to have this opportunity. Words cannot express my happiness. I have been eager to work with Vijay ever since the release of Mankatha (2011). I am thrilled that it has finally come to end." The yet-to-be-titled film, known as Thalapathy 68, is scheduled for release in 2024. Renowned composer Yuvan Shankar Raja has been roped in to compose the music for the film. While Yuvan has frequently collaborated with Venkat Prabhu in the past, Thalapathy 68 marks a special reunion between Yuvan and Vijay after a decade. Their last collaboration was in Vijay's Puthiya Geethai (2003). Thalapathy 68 also marks Vijay's second collaboration with AGS Entertainment, following their successful venture together in the 2019 film Bigil. Archana Kalpathi, associated with AGS Entertainment, is involved in the project as a creative producer.
