In July of last year, it was announced that Ashok Selvan would be collaborating with debutant CS Karthikeyan for an upcoming film. Recently, the movie's title "Saba Nayagan" was unveiled along with its first look poster and teaser, which were launched by Sivakarthikeyan. Karthikeyan, the director of "Saba Nayagan" who previously assisted Kamal Haasan in "Vishwaroopam 1" and "Vishwaroopam 2," has described the movie as a coming-of-age story with a unique twist that makes it stand out from typical romantic comedies. Although the movie features Megha Akash, Karthika Muralidharan, and Chandini Chowdary as Ashok Selvan's love interests, it also emphasizes the bromance aspect, and the director is confident that audiences will connect with the friendship scenes. Interestingly, Ashok Selvan has transformed himself physically for the school portions of the film. Leon James, who previously collaborated with Ashok Selvan in the successful film "Oh My Kadavuley," is the music composer for "Sabha Nayagan." Cinematographers Balasubramaniam, Dinesh Purushothaman, and Prabhu Rhagav have each shot a phase of the protagonist's life, while Ganesh Siva is responsible for the editing. "Sabha Nayagan" is produced by Iyappan Gnanavel's I Cinema Productions, and the makers are aiming to release the movie around May.
