The collection for 4 days is 25 crores. Over the weekend, 294 shows gave 1.21 crores from Chennai and 20.07 crores from the whole of Tamil Nadu. Made with 30 crores budget, it earned 20 crores from the sales of music, satellite and distribution rights itself. Maari is the actor’s biggest opener with 19.51 crores in the first weekend and has also beat Dhanush’s previous movies, Velaiyilla Pattadhari and Anegan. He has also got good response from fans in foreign countries like France, US, and Australia with 1200 screens worldwide. Both Dhanush and Anirudh took to Twitter to thank the director and his fans for the overwhelming response.
