The sequel to Prabhu Solomon's 2012 blockbuster Kumki starring Vikram Prabhu and Lakshmi Menon, Kumki-2.. Usually Prabhu Solomon join hands with D Imman, but now he has chosen a different music composer for the project the young and upcoming music director Nivas K Prasanna, who will compose songs for Kumki 2. Thegidi fame Nivas will be working with Prabhu Solomon for the first time and Kumki 2 will be his fourth movie after Thegidi, Sethupathi and Zero. While Kumki marked the debut of Vikram Prabhu and it was the second movie for Lakshmi Menon, Kumki 2 will have debutantes playing the lead roles, as reported earlier. Speaking about this, Prabhu Solomon said, 'Usually sequels would be the extension or continuation to the first part. But, this has a separate storyline. Since this crux is also about the relationship between an elephant and its master, we have named it as Kumki-2.' The movie will be star newcomer Mathiyazhagan in the lead role. Interestingly the movie is now being shot at Shivasamudram Falls near Mysore. It was the place used by the legendary MGR for his 1975 film Idhayakani. 'A Tamil movie is being shot here after almost 43 years. The script demanded such a scenic location,' Solomon says. The heroine is yet to be confirmed Prabhu Solomon said and added that the crew has been struggling a lot to involve elephants in the movie. The film is produced by Pen India Limited, Jayantilal Gada and Sukumar handles the camera.
