Playback singer M.S.Rajeshwari passed away at the age of 85. Kalathur Kannama, “Ammavum Neeyae” the famous song which made Kamal Hassan shoot to fame at the age of 5 was sung by Rajeshwari. She sung many songs in several languages like Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam. The hit song Naan Sirithal Deepavali in the movie Nayaakan was sung by her. Her song features in several Tamil movies like Parasakthi, Velaikaran, Mudhalali, Sendhoora Devi and Naan Petra Selvam. Her songs will always remain in our hearts.

With seven submissions, Kamal Haasan has starred in the highest number of films submitted by India for the Academy Award Best Foreign Language Film. Haasan's production company, Rajkamal International, has produced several of his films. Kamal Haasan received the Padma Shri in 1990 and the Padma Bhushan in 2014.
