Back in March, we mentioned that the creators of the Dhanush-led movie Kubera were filming in Bangkok for an extended period. Now, they've started a new filming session in Mumbai.

Kubera is directed by filmmaker Sekhar Kammula, known for hits like Happy Days (2007) and Fidaa (2016). Sekhar, along with Chaithanya Pingali, has penned the script.

Apart from Dhanush, the main cast of Kubera includes actors such as Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, and Bollywood's Jim Sarbh. The music for the movie will be composed by Devi Sri Prasad, while Niketh Bommi is in charge of the cinematography. Ramakrishna Sabbani and Monika Nigotre are working as production designers.

Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao are producing the movie under their company Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP, along with Amigos Creations Pvt Ltd. Kubera was officially started in July 2023, and we revealed the first look and title of the film in February this year.

Kubera Team Starts Filming in Mumbai

Dhanush revealed the first-look poster of his upcoming movie, the Ilaiyaraaja biopic, on Wednesday. Directed by Arun Matheswaran, this marks their second project together after the recently released Captain Miller. The legendary musician Ilaiyaraaja will compose the music for the film.

The first-look poster says, 'Dhanush as Ilaiyaraaja,' with the tagline 'The King of Music.' The movie's title has not been announced yet. The poster shows Dhanush in a retro style, holding a harmonium, looking at Chennai in the 1970s, as a newcomer. However, his face is not visible in the poster.
The biopic is supported by Sriram Bakthisaran, CK Padma Kumar, Varun Mathur, Ilamparithy Gajendran, and Saurabh Mishra under the Connekkt Media, PK Prime Production, and Mercuri Movies banners. The cinematography for the film will be done by Nirav Shah, with production design by Muthuraj.

The creators of the Ilaiyaraaja biopic have not disclosed additional information about the cast and crew. The movie is expected to release nationwide in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi languages.

Arun Matheswaran to Direct Dhanush in Ilaiyaraaja Biopic

Dhanush is teaming up with Fidaa director Sekhar Kammula for a Telugu movie named Kubera. The Kubera team has just started filming their movie in Bangkok with a new schedule.

Some days back, the creators of Kubera revealed the first glimpse and title of their movie. Alongside Dhanush, the main cast of Kubera features actors such as Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, and Bollywood star Jim Sarbh.

Director Sekhar, along with Chaithanya Pingali, has penned the script. Devi Sri Prasad, who recently marked 25 years in the film industry, serves as the movie's music director, and Niketh Bommi is the cinematographer. Additionally, Ramakrishna Sabbani and Monika Nigotre are the production designers.

The film is being produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under their banner Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP, in collaboration with Amigos Creations Pvt Ltd.

Kubera, starring Dhanush, has started filming in Bangkok.

Dhanush is an Indian film actor, producer, and playback singer who has worked predominantly in Tamil cinema. In 2011, he won the National Film Award for Best Actor for the movie Aadukalam and in the same year, he received international attention for his song "Why this Kolaveri Di", which went on to became the most viewed Indian song in YouTube.
