Women’s Day was celebrated across the world & Guess what the team of ‘Nadigayar Thilagam’ had planned? They released the first look of the posters in Tamil and Telugu to honor ‘Nadigayar Thilagam’ Savithri on Women’s Day. Actress Savithri was one of the finest actresses during 1950-1960. Her biopic will be directed by Nag Ashwin and the film will be produced by ‘Vaijeyanthi Movies’ and ‘Swapna Cinema’.
 
Actress Savithri had worked in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada films throughout her career. Being an actress for 31 years in the film industry, she had acted up to 263 films in all the languages.
 
Keerthi Suresh will represent actress Savithri in the biopic and Samantha is roped in to essay a crucial role in the film. The film is gearing up for the shoot and it will be simultaneously shot in both Tamil and Telugu. ‘Nadigayar Thilagam’ will be a mega venture production.

Keerthi Suresh and Samantha collaborate for actress Savithri’s biopic

The 1980s late actress Savithri’s professional life was on cards to be made as a biopic by director Nag Ashwin of Yevade Subramanyam fame few weeks back. The makers were hunting for the apt leading lady to play Savithri in this flick and several big names were heard. The recent news is that Samantha has been approached for the role. 

Looks like she has bagged a meaty project since it's going to be a heroine oriented subject. Earlier there were reports rounding that Nithya Menon was sure to play the legendary character but now Samantha is another contender. Touted to be a bilingual made in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously, both of them have a pan appeal in both the cine industry.

Apart from this flick, Samantha has two other ventures in her kitty. One, Irumbu Thirai with Vishal and Arya and the other Aneethi Kathaigal with Vijay Sethupathi. In both these films, the Theri actress is romancing the male leads for the first time. As for Nithya Menon, her last venture in Kollywood was Iru Mugan after which she hasn't signed any movies.

Samantha to play Savithri in her biopic ??

The late actress Savithri was considered equal to Sivaji in her excellent acting of old times. Director Nag Ashwin of ‘Yevade Subramanyam’ fame is directing a biopic based on her life with a strong female protagonist playing the role of Savithri. We hear that the talented actress Nithya Menon will be seen as Savithri in this biopic.

The OK Kanmani lady is equally talented with her presence in cine field right from her childhood. She is the right heroine to play Savithri in this Tamil/Telugu bilingual. She even has a pan audience appeal in both Kollywood and Tollywood. The other members of the cast and crew are not yet decided upon.

Titled as Mahanati, the name itself means a great actress in Telugu. Also Savithri was given the same character name in her movies and the makers have finalised the same. The shooting is scheduled to run on floors from December month. We also hear that Telugu actors Jr.NTR and Naga Chaitanya might be seen making special appearances.
