The Lissy Lakshmi Dubbing Studios, a unique recording facility designed by sound wizard Resul Pookutty, was jointly inaugurated by Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and the Oscar winner at Nungampakkam in Chennai on Monday 3rd July 2017.

The studio is the latest venture by businesswoman and actress Lissy Lakshmi who has added a new and exciting facet to her business house Le Magic Lantern Preview Theatre through this novel initiative. The studio is the first ever such recording capability planned by Resul Pookutty. 

Speaking at the occasion, Lissy said it has been a great honour working with Resul. ``Without his help and advice this would not have happened. The biggest challenge in building a dubbing studio of international standards was getting the latest technology, latest equipment and the best acoustics,’’ she said. The significant cost factor involved in these three aspects are the reasons why most people shy away from investing in a state-of-the-art dubbing studio. ``What you see here today reflects research, consultation and hard work of more than a year,’’ Lissy pointed out.

The technology and infrastructure we have showcased here will add value to the south Indian film industry in general and Tamil industry in particular. ``I am sure the quality of what we have achieved will echo in the movies that will be dubbed here. This will help to enhance and better the experience of the public while watching those movies,’’ Lissy said. 

To commemorate the inaugural, Resul and team will record famous dialogues of Kamal Haasan, Mohan, Sarathkumar, Radika, Sree Priya, Suhasini, Kushbu, Shobhana, Revathi and other stars at the studio. ``A short film on this exercise will be made and the revenue generated will go to the education of orphan girls in Chennai,’’ Lissy said.

Lissy Lakshmi Dubbing Studios was inaugurated By Kamal Haasan In Le Magic Lantern.  The event was attended by many celebrities including Madhavan, Director K.S Ravikumar, Suhasini. The studio is designed by Resul Pookutty.

Suhasini Maniratnam is an actress known for her works in South Indian Cinema. She made her film debut in 1980 with the Tamil film Nenjathai Killathe for which she won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress. Suhasini has won the National Film Award for Best Actress for Sindhu Bhairavi in 1986. She has received five Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Kannada,one Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu, Two Kerala State Film Awards, and has garnered state awards like, Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, Nandi Awards.
