Director Vetrimaran has become the talk of the town in Tamil cinema following the release of his highly-praised film 'Viduthalai 1,' starring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi. The movie has left audiences eagerly anticipating its sequel, 'Viduthalai 2.' Meanwhile, fans have been eagerly waiting for the past five years for Vetrimaaran to fulfill his promise of making the sequel to the cult classic 'Vada Chennai' - 'Anbuvin Ezhuchi.'

Vetrimaaran recently attended the audio and trailer launch of Raghava Lawrence's forthcoming movie 'Rudhran,' produced and directed by Five Star Kathiresan. It is worth noting that Vetrimaaran made his directorial debut with 'Polladavan,' which was produced by Kathiresan.

During the event, Vetrimaaran confirmed that he will be filming a few scenes for 'Viduthalai 2' before moving on to the highly-anticipated 'Vaadivaasal.' The latter stars Suriya and is produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu. To the delight of the crowd, Vetrimaaran announced that he will then shift his attention to 'Vada Chennai 2' before the end of 2024, and assured them that the film is definitely happening.

According to recent reports; production work for Suriya's 'Vaadi Vaasal' is progressing rapidly, and director Vetrimaaran is expected to begin filming the project earlier than anticipated. In a recent interview, director Tamizh revealed that Vetrimaaran is working on the script for 'Vaadi Vaasal' whenever he has free time, as it is one of his passion projects. Tamizh also confirmed that the film's shoot will commence shortly.

Director Vetrimaaran has scheduled to complete all the portions for the second part of 'Viduthalai' before focusing on 'Vaadi Vaasal.' Suriya is expected to join the cast soon after wrapping up the remaining 75 days of filming for 'Suriya42.'

Reports indicate that Vetrimaaran plans to bring in Hollywood VFX specialists for the film, similar to those used in "Avatar: The Way of Water". It is rumored that music composer GV Prakash Kumar is working on the soundtrack. Vetrimaaran is working on post-production for his two-part film "Viduthalai," starring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi, with the first part releasing on March 31st and the second part to follow a few months later. He is expected to start work on "Vaadivaasal" by mid-year. Meanwhile, Suriya is filming Siruthai Siva's "Surya 42," a two-part project costarring Disha Patani, Kovai Sarala, and Yogi Babu. The film features music by Devi Sri Prasad and is produced by UV Creations and Studio Green.
