Pon Ondru Kanden is an upcoming Indian Tamil language romantic comedy film directed by Senthil Veerasamy, which is the remake of the successful Telugu movie Pelli Choopulu by Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam. It features Vishnu Vishal and Tamannaah in the lead roles.

Director Gautham Vasudev Menon is busy right now filming simultaneously for Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta with Dhanush and Dhruva Natchathiram with Vikram. Under Gautham's production Ondraga Entertainment, he was supposed to start the Tamil remake of Tollywood super-hit romantic drama Pelli Choopulu. It was titled as Pon Ondru Kandaen. GVM’s former assistant Senthil Veerasamy was announced to direct while Vishnu Vishal and Tamanna was finalized to play as lead pair.
    
But later, actor Vishnu Vishal backed off from the project saying he is unable to allot dates due to delay in production. Then the project could not take-off due to unknown reasons. But now, Gautham Menon has reportedly said that the project was paused as it was budgeted beyond the market value of the stars at that time. He also added that plans are on to restart the movie with fresh starcast soon.

GAUTHAM MENON TO START PON ONDRU KANDAEN?

Anushka's recent release Baaghamathie has brought her a good reputation and critics have also applauded her performance in the movie. Anushka Shetty has been nurturing her career graph with series of commendable movies. It includes an array of different genres comprising of recent release ‘Bhaagamathie’. Now the actress has officially signed up for Gautham Vasudev Menon’s upcoming film ‘Ondraaga’.

She has already appeared in Gautham Vasudev Menon's Yennai Arinthaal which was a notable role. Now. Ondraga is a multi-starrer project that stars South Indian actors in lead roles reportedly with STR, Prithviraj, Sai Dharam Tej and Puneeth Rajkumar. It was initially reported that Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah would be playing the female lead roles. Now it is officially affirmed that Anushka is onboard, but there hasn’t any word upon Tamannaah.

It is noteworthy that Tamannaah plays the female lead role in Gautham Vasudev Menon’s production ‘Pon Ondru Kandein’, which is a remake of Telugu hit movie ‘Pelli Choopulu’.
