Kathir (Udhayanidhi), a young man from Madurai, goes to Coimbatore with a purpose. A staunch devotee of Lord Hanuman, Kathirvelan is totally against marriage and romance. But one glimpse of the lovely Pavithra (Nayanthara) and Kathir becomes completely distracted from his goal, who serendipitously, is his new neighbor. Pavithra, however, is romantically involved with Goutham (Sunder Ramu), a long-time friend, and frankly discloses this to Kathir. Although Goutham has been pursuing Pavithra for over a year now, he is not in love with her. He just plans to have a good time and then move on. Kathir overhears Goutham bragging about his so-called conquest to a friend in a restaurant. Kathir tries to warn Pavithra, but she does not believe him and tells him to stay out of her life. What will happen to Kathir's love story? Will he succeed in winning over the love of his life, with the guidance of his good friend from college, Mayil (Santhanam)?
